March 24 Hello Everyone,
Spring has sprung on the island and Forgotten Coast! We've had quite a bit of activity lately. Apalachicola has received some national press of late, The National Trust of Historic Places just released a list of a Dozen Distinctive Destinations, which includes Apalachicola. While the local economy has seen a downturn in business, shop owners indicate a steady flow of traffic from out of town guests.
The real estate market has continued to see a decline in prices and along with it, more sales activity. There are currently ten homes under contract, ranging in price from $375,000 to $1,500,000. There are also two lots and two groups of commercial lots ranging in price from $149,500 to $2,800,000.
The number of properties for sale on the island has continued to remain in the low 300's. Of those, in my estimation, there are probably around sixty that are priced appropriately to the current market. If it's not priced correctly, keep it off the market...just the same...if you're looking for property...please contact me for help in looking in the right direction with regard to price and value.
The Pompano will begin to hit soon...be sure to get down and enjoy the wonderful Spring that only the Island and local area can deliver.
Stop by when you're in the area,
Mark
